Andhshraddha

27 May 2013

Had the British stayed up to 2000

A post from Munawwar Hussain
--------- Being honest and upfront were not the only qualities needed to build a successful nation, my driver is very honest man, can we make him PM?... Jinnah failed to realize that his people were not competent enough to run a country, Brits were developing the country's infrastructure, they had all the technology to build whole India much better than what we did after 1947, these leaders stopped that development and prosperity for 400 million people, which could have made lives of the masses much better, imagine if it had continued till 2000, we would have been even better than Canada or Australia

Comments
Munawwar Hussain Sir thank you for posting my comments and thoughts

Bharatbhai R Pandya Acp I agree. In British Raj communalism was absent, we could find number of Muslim and Christian Officers and Judges. The Brahmins displaced them all and fixed themselves in their posts. ...... Casteism was there as the British were dependent on the spying of the Brahmins over the Indian population, that is why they did not touch casteism of the dominant castes of the Hindus. But after the exposition of Ambedkar, they might have been forced to eliminate this notorious inhuman casteism the Hindus.................The Brahmins willingly inherited the Super Human mentality of Nazi Germany and it continues even today .......Naxalism is not all about the Adivasi lands but a revolt against the atrocious Caste System...........You are right when you say India could have been more prosperous and advanced had the British stayed up to 2000, but Gandhi and Nehru and other VarNvyavasthavadi Congress leaders wanted power at the earliest in their hands . This stretegy was adopted much earlier by them when they maltreated Jinnah in the Congress Convention in Nagpur. Pl read my posts on the incident. Author Wolpert has vividly described the incident in his book " Jinnah of Pakistan ". Congress dominated by the Princes and Casteist and communals did not want to share power with Dalits of Ambedkar or Muslims of Jinnah. They wanted to swallow the entire laddu ( sweet balls ) themselves only. The disparities in economic and social areas are due to this power hungriness of the casteist and communalist forces in India ( I think Pakistan has more or less same problem as when we see politicians exhorting people on religious lines, we feel they want to divert the attention of their people from stark realities of Economic Degradation and Social Discriminations to religion. here ram mandir is nothing but that exercise on a grand scale. And the orthodox people will never build Ram Mandir, otherwise their great mobilising mascot  will vanish ! This is the crux of the dilemma.------------------------------------------The trouble arose from the all embracing mentality of the Brahmins here and the Punjabis in Pakistan. They did not set their aims on 1. Spreading education in masses 2. They did not concentrate on increasing production  and Productivity of the labour classes 3. They did not concentrate on improving health, amenities of living , (  toilets etc ) 4. They did not set on course of improving lot of the farm labour (  They could not do this as in India  most of the rural leaders were big big Zamindars and they wanted exploitation of the dalits continued. For continued exploitation of farm labour , it was necessary to keep them away from education and keep them in perpetual abject poverty. Pakistan faced same problems there Big Zamindars like Bhutto b Family became PMs, and Generals were also absent farmers  !

Chaotic situation of Education in Rural India

Bharatbhai R Pandya Acp That is the thing. We were taught English from 5 th Standard as it was a Missionary School. The teachers were very sincere, there was one teacher who was B.Sc. and was teaching us science subjects, his name ( I remember his name even after 60 years, it was Samuel Christie, he saw that were deficient in English Grammar, and said once, " Unless you have a sound grip on English Grammar, you will not be able to learn English language properly. So , he started taking extra class for English Grammar ( after the school hours ) and taught us tenses first and then some peculiarities of Grammar constructions ! This was not his job , but had a passion to teach us correct things correctly.------------------------------------------ 2. As a child I saw illiterate adults going into the school building in out maholla at night , they learnt at least reading casually and putting their signatures ! One of such an adult student rose to be Member of Surat Municipal Corpn and became Chairman of water Suppy !-------------------------I was General secretary and President of a NGO South Gujarat Deen Bandhu Congress and we were conducting classes for adults but rarely a genuine adult came and learnt, mostly school children attended the classes, with a hope that they would not be subjected to attend Adult Literacy Courses !----------------The situation in rural side is quite disappointing as there are no rooms , tables and teachers always missing and coming once or twice in a month to collect their salaries . VarNvyavastha has also an impact on rural scenario as the teachers do not want to teach the students of SCs and Adivasis at all . They desire that the boys should get recdruited as farm labour only. ----- Unluckily M. Gandhi had similar view and questioned the advisability of opening new schools for Dalit and Adivasi students ( Such were our rotten leaders )

Law else where and in India

https://www.facebook.com/rsrc.php/v3/yf/r/g_kf1vXYV_O.png
Why do Indians become law abiding citizens when they settle in other countries?
Me  ;--------For fear of instant and sure punishment. Here the justice delivery system is plagued by lethargy, casteism, communalism, corruption. No fear of any thing rules mind of the law breakers
When I was undergoing training at the Forensic Science Institute years back, Professor Amzad Khan of the same institute, and a name in the Sociology, had said to us " Remember law is ruthless with its followers but is afraid of its breakers. " is 100 % true in the Indian and Pakistani settings.
Bharatbhai R Pandya Acp My frd Professor D.J.Naik told me this story when he was in USA for a visit. " It so happened that myself, your bhabhi and my son had gone to visit a super store. My son and wife had gone inside the store and I just waited near the parked car. So I thought let me sit in the driver's seat, so I opened door and sat on his seat. After a few minutes a policeman came stood besides my door and wanted to check the licence. I came out of the car, I had no driving license for USA and told him so that I had only sat in driver's seat and was not doing any thing connected with driving. .... Then all of a sudden he took out his revolver and commanded me to turn on the bonnet with extended hands with palms touching the bonnet keeping my face down, otherwise he would shoot me ". I had to obey his order , otherwise he would have killed me. There were many incidents when the American criminals had shot policemen on the excuse of taking out licence from the pocket and had fired. So I obeyed his orders, he checked my pockets ,to see whether there was any revolver inside the pocket. I feel I escape a bullet or two of the policemen that day
!....... ". It is this awe which produces obedience to law.

   My status in detail :-
Why NRIs break law with pleasure in India and obey it abroad loyally ?
They obey law in Middle East , USA England for fear of instant and sure punishment. Here the justice delivery system is plagued by lethargy, casteism, communalism, corruption. No fear of any thing rules mind of the law breakers
When I was undergoing training at the Forensic Science Institute years back, Professor A.M.Z. Khan of the same institute, and a name in the Sociology, had said to us " Remember law is ruthless with its followers but is afraid of its breakers. " is 100 % true in the Indian and Pakistani settings.
In European countries law is ruthless with every one, ordinary or extra-ordinary.Even the PM of England had to appear before the officer in charge of the Police Station in whose area the school of his son was located. They son had misbehaved in school and as per law his father was supposed to receive "rebuke "for the son's misbehavior, and the PM of England had to appear before the Police Inspector to receive the rebuke.
In India rules and laws are made selective only Muslims and Dalits are targets of Law Giving them protection of law is entirely a distant dream.

Bharatbhai R Pandya Acp Kachra nahi hai, ye sab naTak hai. Kachra to inke dimag mein bhara pada hai. Vo to jab vo munh kholte hai, tab bahar nikal aata hai, jhahar ke roop mein. Inko pata nahi hai ki Mukhya Mantri ka kaam kya hota hai ? Mukhya mantri ke karya ke liye isko laya gaya hai ki rasteki safai karne ke liye ? Mansahar nahi karna, kuchadkhane bandh karvana, gau rakshako ke naam goonDoko Muslim aur Dalito par hamle karvana, ye kaam kya CM ka hota hai ? Jhahrile bhaShaN de kar dange karvana, ye kaam kya CM ka hota hai ? Are jara Congress ke mantrione kaise kaise kaam kar Dale vo jara paDho aur aise kaam kar dikhlao, ye saaf safai ka kaam tumhara nahi hai, Pahla kaam tumhare hi dimag mein ghus gai jhaharile vichardhara badlo.Constitution ka abhyas karo aur usmein likhe aadarsh kaise siddh karne chahiye , vo shikho. ------- Ham jab Junagadh Police Training mein hazir hue tab pahle hi deen hamare Guru Police Inspector Shri Makhijani ne hamko hamara kartavya batate kaha tha ki, tumhara pratham aur aakhiri kartavya " Prevention and Detection of Crime and Maintenance of Law and Order hai " Yah hamesha yaad rakhna.------- Tumko kisine aisi salah suchna dee hai ki nahi ? Ki bas naTakbazi karte raho, ek deen PM jarur banoge, aisa kaha tha ? -------- Sharm ki baat hai.

The Muslim gentry and the poor

Helping the poor , the handicapped and beggars
=================================================
Yesterday we were gossiping at the shop of a shayar friend,. With me was another All India level shayar. A Muslim beggar woman came for alms, I put my hand in pocket but a note of 100 came out, and I wanted to give only 10/-. So the All India level shayar took out a 10 note and gave me,I handed it over to the woman, she went.
I have seen many Muslim shop keepers keeping small change specially for giving alms to the beggars. It is their culture to help the destitute as Quran commands so.
Today , I was sitting with my Gujarati Sahitya Parishad Award winner Kisanbhai Sosa at our regular jaunt.at Agano vad at noon time , I saw a car with some Muslim women in the car, abruptly stopped, even on wrong side , the owner driver lowered the glass and took out some money and gave it to some one, I rose to see who the receiver was, he was a handicapped beggar with no leg and the Muslim gentleman had given alm to him.
The friend remarked, " The Muslims are having some humanity in a corner of their heart and they donate money to the destitutes. " I remarked that is because their religious scripture commands them to help the destitutes and handicapped and the poor.
That is how the well known Urdu-Hindi Shayar Shahjahan Shad has said in a gazal " Has any fakir returned empty handed from my house ? "

JUSTICE v/s VENGEANCE
--------------------------------------
You know what, it bothers me. I can't let it go.
For believers in the death penalty:
No death penalty for Bilkis Bano's rapists and death penalty for Nirbhaya's rapists?
How does this sit well with you at any level?
For those who believe justice is about vengeance - has even vengeance been served for Bilkis?
What vengeance do you want served for Bilkis Bano?
What is the principle of reciprocity here?
HOW EXACTLY will vengeance be rendered?
How many Hindu women should be raped in this eye-for-eye vision of your justice, that sounds exactly like your enemy's ?
How many Hindu men should be castrated?
Remember that some Dalits participated in the Gujarat riots too? Should they be castrated too?
Or are they now "the popular minority" we all want to protect, after having forgotten about them for decades.
Should we put non-Dalit criminals in 3 feet by 7 feet boxes for the rest of their lives?
Should we give free rein to all our "human emotions."
Is that how Justice nee Vengeance works?
Or should we just kill them all? So what if get one or two wrong? The "greater good" will be served after all? So what if we find out 7 or 8 years later that we killed 1 or 2 or 10 innocents?
We TRIED to do the right thing, didn't we? That's all that matters, doesn't it?
That we feel better about ourselves? In the moment?
Of course, we know that ALMOST EVERYTHING is based on witness testimonies, a criminalized and inefficient police force and a damn near non-existent forensic department.
The Innocence Project in the U.S. has found even DNA evidence unreliable in an astonishingly large number of cases. It has managed to reverse judgments on a number of them.
Yet we are happy to blithely sentence people to death, with not even an agreed upon LEGAL definition of "rarest of rare."
THAT is why half the time some people get a death sentence and some don't.
That's what happened even BEFORE the BJP came to power. Because some Brahmins judges refused to believe Brahmin boys could rape Dalit girls, for example.
So Dalit rapists got death sentences and Brahmin rapists didn't.
How is that for Justice?
Unequal laws are not laws at all.
No bad law can be justly applied in the long run.
I hate quoting Gandhi, or anybody else for that matter, unless forced to. He was also probably quoting someone when he said
-- "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."
Justice is NOT about vengeance.
Vengeance is private business. Exact it in your own time, at your own cost -- in my humble opinion.
Justice is a moral idea. It's an idea of law and political philosophy.
Criminal Justice has to be rational. It has to be proportional. It has to make room for error. And it has to apply to everyone equally. Or to no one at all.

Bhanwari Devi - Wikipedia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhanwari_Devi
Bhanwari Devi (also spelled Bahveri Devi) is an Indian dalit social-worker from Bhateri, Rajasthan, who was allegedly gang raped in ... In 1987, she took up a major issue of the attempted rape of a womanfrom a neighbouring village. ... reluctant to record rape cases and show callousness and indifference towards women .

On Gunwant S Rao , a Police officer of rare breed .

Bharatbhai R Pandya Acp When he was young, he wore an old head on his young shoulders. Now since he seems to have embraced age with grace, he wears young face on younger shoulders ! Satisfaction and sense of having done some thing for others , makes all a difference.---------- I remember a case, the principal of Police Training school, Baroda was a rank corrupt man, but I was not making money, and that fellow wanted to spoil my ACR, Rao had gone to that wretched fellow with folded hands for not spoiling my ACR, but the officer hell bent on spoiling my ACR and stop my promotion, So even in an academic Institution the rascal officer spoiled my ACR . One thing can be said to the credit of Rao that he bore no ill will to any body . Officers of such breed will never be seen in Gujarat Police Dept.

When the ancient Chinese decided to live in peace, they made the Great Wall of China. They thought no one could climb it due to its unscalable height.
During the first 100 years of its existence, the Chinese were invaded thrice. ...
And each time, the hordes of enemy infantry never needed to penetrate or climb over the wall...because each time they bribed the guards and came in right royally through the gates!
The Chinese built the impregnable wall but forgot to secure the loyalty and character of the wall-guards.
This shows us that character building should come BEFORE any other building activity or development!
Like one Orientalist put it:
If you want to destroy the civilisation of a nation there are 3 sure fire ways to achieve it.
1. Destroy family structure
2.Destroy education
3. Lower their role models and references
1. In order to destroy the family: undermine the role of the Woman. Her role as nurturer and anchor. Her sense of being safe. Take away her self respect. Confine her to a subservient place of fear and slavery.
2. To destroy education: you should destroy the Teacher, and lower his standards as a catalyst of free thinking. Keep him tied to poverty of the mind and body so that society and his students despise him. Imprison him with materials to deliver that cannot be examined, only consumed.
3. To lower the role models: you should undermine the Philosopher and Scholar. Keep them engaged in controversy and resistance rather than creativity. Close down their sustenance and doubt them until no one listens to them or follows them. Get them to write in praise of your ideologies. Punish dissent.
For when a mind nurturing mother disappears, a dedicated teacher disappears and there is a downfall of role models, WHO will teach the youngsters VALUES?
Think about it.
Are our homes also invaded? Are our great walls being breached?

On Shirdi-Nasik High Way, just relaxed , leaving all worries of the world to Sai Baba . Why to worry about any thing when in the prayers you can transfer load of worries, tension and all anxieties to the God ? Forget every thing after making a pilgrimage. I like God for this thing only as he serves as the greatest source of tranquilizer , relaxant and forgetfulness. For me God has no other work. Rly engine in Navsari Bazar ?

After reading the article published in the Nayamarg of Ahmedabad, I simply went a few years back in the past. the time was probably 1984-85 and i was active in my org, " Ambedkar Vichar Mandal " in Surat and we were organising night lectures in the backward class areas of Surat. Gunvant Shah was living in Timaliyawad , Nanpura which was one Km away from my residence. I went to see him and requested him to come and give a lecture on Ambedkar to the dalits. He was visibly embarrassed. After regaining his poise he said this was not possible. I asked why. he said " The thing is like bringing a train to Navsari bazar. Is it possible ? If you can bring the train to Navsari Bazar, I shall come and speak to your audience. " I liked his openness but hated his hypocricy ( dambh). I still hate the dambh.

Dard bhare nagme

Sadness ( Dard ) in Music Music has immense ability to change one's mood and behaviour.
I learnt this lesson on Saturday night. we were called for rehearsal in Kalrav Orchestra. The atmosphere in the studio was quite jovial, all were laughing and exchanging smart smiles.I was given three options , but I selected this on my own ," Aansu bhari hai ye jeevan ki raate " sung by Mukesh of the film Parvarish because I had heard it twice that day ! One stanza was over, in the second stanza I started becoming emotional , went near the screen and sang as the character demanded.
When I completed the song, peace prevailed, no applause. I was horrified, as looking to the score I achieved it was truly a praise worthy attempt. But the silence of the singers , all were singers, baffled me.
I sat near out Composer , he said, " Did you mark the sadness on faces of your colleagues ? They have acquired sadness on their faces on account of your song, This was really a heart moving song ". I looked on the singers, it appeared a cloud of sadness had descended on their faces and they felt same sadness , dard , as was felt by the character Raj Kapur, on the screen. If that was the impact of the wordings and the music and voice on the singers, what would be the effect on ordinary people ?
The jovial mood of the singers did not return up to the end of the session. At last the Guruji said, " Always remember to sing songs of happiness and joy.Sad songs make audience sad, that we do not want.
I remembered a dialogue between Madan Mohan and Lata mangeshkar. after seeing many sad compositions from Madan Mohan sahb, she told him, " Why that your Music is packed with so much sadness ? Tere Music mein itna dard kyon hai ? "Madan Mohan stared at her only. I knew from where my sadness came .
