“ Ek Bangla Bane Nyara “ -  Kundanlal Saigal

       The great Indian singer Saigal  ( 11.4.1904- 18.1.1947 )   had sung 110 Hindi songs and had acted in 28 films. His favourite rag was Bhairavi. He believed that once a person mastered this rag , the rest of rags will be  easy to master.. Among his famous songs are 1. Ek Bangla Bane Nyara 2. Babul  Mora naihar chhuto jay  3.   Jab Dil Hi  Tut Gaya

        But even at the age of 42 he was  a man of humility and introspective. If some one praised him to much he would  promptly say, “You see I have sung only songs., and have not killed any tiger or lion .  These songs were written by some poets and I sang them only “

        While giving tribute to Saigal , the famous musician Naushad had to  say ‘

       “   Saigal ko faramosh koi kar nahee shakta,

           Vo aisa amar hai ki, kabhi mar nahee shakta “

          

                             ( faramosh means   to beat  )
