I am a poet only   _ Surdas

          Once Mogal Emperor Akbar called Surdas in his darbar and asked,

             “    Whoes poems are superior , yours , or those of Tulsidas ?  “

              “ Mine, of course ! “  replied Surdas.

        Akbar  dragged him in further discussion, “ Then  what about the quality of  the poems of Tulsidas ? “

                       Surdas replied with all humility, “ I have written poems only, and so I am a poet. But Tulsidas  is a saint and more he is a visionary , which I am not “

      Akbar was taken aback and his power melted before the humility of Surdas.
