This hat is called " Sola Hat "
.It was a must for the horse riders for protection of head against fall from the horse back.I had to wear it. The Britishers were No 1 buyers of such hats as it protected the head and major part of body under the sun shine.In Bombat , there was one special shop named " Calcutta Sola Hat Agency " near Metro Cinema on Mangaldas Road and it sold items of police uniforms including horse riding ok .I was a regular visitor to this Store .When I had no byke in 1971/72 ,I used bicycle but invariably put on this sola hat during day time. Unluckily I have no photo of mine wearing this hat.
